Sub-D connectors work up to 13.5kV and 21km altitude

Teledyne DHM High Voltage connect

Called DHM, they use the company’s self-contained ‘Hi/Mate’ inserts, pre-wired inside sub-D housings and back-shells – they are only available made-up onto cables.

“These inserts leverage Teledyne’s advanced interface sealing system, rendering them suitable for a wide range of aerospace and defense electronic applications, as well as high voltage applications in industrial equipment where exceptional HV performance and temperature resilience are essential,” said the company.

Two, three, five and eight contact versions are available in increasingly long sub-D housings, and there are options to replace some of them with multiple lower-voltage pins.

Operation is over -55 to +125°C, and 5.9A can be carried at 80°C in free air.

Rotating jack screws for latching are an option, and the plugs can have back-shells while the receptacles can be front or rear panel mounting.
